A manufacturer of industrial tools under parent company Textron, this US firm also offers a range of electrical test equipment.

Company Background

Prior to being acquired by industrial giant Textron in 1986, Greenlee itself had a long and proud history in the production of industrial tools. The company was founded by Robert and Ralph Greenlee in 1862 on the back of a woodworking invention in Rockford. The company went on to great success through a number of woodworking tools and machinery.

Today

After Textron’s acquisition of Greenlee, they have themselves expended their range of products through further companies like Fairmont Hydraulics and Datacom Technologies, to include hydraulic, telecommunications and electronics equipment.

They chiefly operate in the furniture, electrical, agriculture and plant maintenance markets and their products are shipped worldwide. Textron itself is heavily into aerospace and defense and owns a number of high profile firms, such as Cessna and Bell Helicopters. Employee count is around 35,000.

Products

Along with multimeters provided by Brymen, they manufacture and buy a huge line of hand tools (to include professional grade), together with punches, conduit benders, cable pullers, wrenches and hydraulic pumps.
